RE: PROCEDURES FOR ADMISSION TO THE BAR
Congratulations on passing the Colorado Bar Examination! If your Bar Results Notice indicates your status as
“Pass-Admission on Hold”, read your Bar Results Notice carefully and refer to the "Admission on Hold
Information and Procedures" option at:

procedures.
If your status is “Pass”, you may proceed with the steps necessary to take the oath of admission. C.R.C.P.
211.3(3) requires that every applicant to the Bar of the State of Colorado shall, before receiving a certificate of
admission, pay a license fee of $40 and sign the oath of admission before the Clerk of the Supreme Court or
other designated officer.
In order to attend the mandatory admission ceremony scheduled for Monday, November 5, 2018, you must
register with the Attorney Registration Office PRIOR TO THE CEREMONY. The Attorney Registration Office is
located at 1300 Broadway, Suite 510, Denver. Registration commences Tuesday, October 9, 2018, between the
hours of 9 a.m. to 12 noon and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. ONLY THOSE FROM OUTSIDE THE DENVER-BOULDER
METRO AREA WILL BE ALLOWED TO REGISTER THE MORNING OF THE CEREMONY.
When you register, you will be required to (1) produce a picture identification card; (2) pay the license fee of
$40 (by check or credit card only, cash is no longer accepted); (3) personally sign and subscribe to the oath of
admission in the presence of the Attorney Registration Clerk or a Deputy Clerk; and (4) complete all necessary
forms for the annual registration of attorneys pursuant to C.R.C.P. 227. The New Attorney Registration form is
available on-line at http://coloradosupremecourt.com/Current%20Lawyers/Forms.asp. You can save time by
downloading and completing this form ahead of time and bringing it with you to submit at registration.
The admission ceremony will be held on Monday, November 5, 2018, at 3:30 p.m. at the Boettcher Concert Hall
in Denver, Colorado. More details on this ceremony will be provided at the time you sign the oath and pay the
license fee. IN ORDER TO ATTEND THE CEREMONY, YOU MUST HAVE PREVIOUSLY PAID THE LICENSE
FEE AND COMPLETED THE NECESSARY PAPERWORK AT THE ATTORNEY REGISTRATION OFFICE.
If you are unable to be present for the November 5th admission ceremony, you may complete the required
paperwork and take the oath of admission at the Attorney Registration Office, 1300 Broadway, Suite 510,
Denver, Colorado between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. commencing November 6

. Pursuant to C.R.C.P.
211.3(1) and (2), successful exam applicants must take the oath of admission no later than eighteen months
subsequent to the date of the announcement that he or she has passed the examination. Any questions
