BlueCielo Meridian Enterprise 2017 Release Notes
80
Microsoft .NETFramework 4.0 Full Profile (the Client Profile is insufficient) is now required.
New EDMServer options have been added for specifying BlueCielo Meridian Enterprise Server con-
nection parameters. When enabled, Meridian uses the users and groups defined in Meridian Enter-
prise Server instead of the users and groups defined in Meridian Enterprise Administrator.
New server registry values TablesDBSqlCeOptions and TablesDBMsJetOptions have been
added. They allow specifying optional parameters to add to the connection string that is used by
Meridian Enterprise to connect to the SQLServer Compact Edition or Microsoft Access database
where external lookup lists are stored.
A new EDMServer setting Use Enterprise server for audit trail has been added that, when
enabled, stores the Meridian Enterprise audit data in the Meridian Enterprise Server audit database
along with the Meridian Explorer and BlueCielo Publisher data.
The default timeout settings for AutoVue Client/Server have been changed to 1440 minutes (24
hours).
The UserGroupCacheTimeOut registry value is now automatically adjusted from 5 to 60
depending on the current Security role assignments setting in the vault’s properties. If the
value is set to other than one of these values, it is not adjusted.
A new registry value RunRemoteApp has been added for use with remote access software. This
value enables support for opening documents in the registered Windows application on the remote
client PC when the user double-clicks on the document in PowerUser running on a remote host PC.
New registry values DocAccessUseTmpFileOnSave and DocAccessUseTmpFolder have
been added to improve Citrix support.
The Meridian Enterprise setup program now includes options to also install Meridian Enterprise
Server, Meridian Explorer, and BlueCieloPublisher. Now only one setup program is needed to
install any combination of the products. The products should not all be installed on the same com-
puter except for demonstration or development purposes. For detailed installation instructions, con-
tinue to refer to each product’s
Administrator’s Guide
.
By default, the account that is assigned to the AutoManager EDMServer service is now set as
the rescue (backdoor) account unless a different account is already set.
A new page has been added to the Meridian Enterprise setup program that prompts for the name
of an account to assign to the installed services and application pools. A checkbox is provided that,
when enabled, will also assign the account to the AutoManager EDMServer and BlueCielo License
Server services if they are already installed. If installed, the BlueCieloFile System (AMFS)service is
not affected by the option and should always be run under the LocalSystem account.
In accordance with our software support policy, Microsoft Windows XP is no longer supported as a
platform for server or client computers. If Windows XP support is required by your organization,
contact your BlueCielo Account Representative about Extended Lifetime Support.
Windows Server 2012 R2 is supported.
The Meridian Enterprise setup program now creates dedicated Internet Information Services
application pools for the products that it installs:BCMeridian (Web Access), BCWebService
(AutoVue Client/Server), BCExtensibility (audit log viewer and Meridian Web Client asset man-
agement), BCEnterprise (Meridian Enterprise Server). The application pools are automatically
assigned to the applications during installation with a specified user account. The default timeout
period of each application pool is set to 1440 minutes (24 hours).
