NZ CITIZEN ENDORSEMENT APPLICATION
SINGAPORE
You must lodge your application at the New Zealand Visa Application Centre (VAC) in Singapore. For more information about the
VAC, visit: www.vfsglobal.com/newzealand/singapore. It’s important you provide all the relevant information requested below so
we can process your application promptly. Application forms are available from our website: www.immigration.govt.nz/forms.
Alternatively you may be able to apply on-line for some visa types. You can access our On-line visa application service through our
website http://www.immigration.govt.nz/
Non-English documents must be translated to English by a translation company and submit both the Non-English and English
translated documents. Self-translations will not be accepted.
When providing original documents with your application ensure they are accompanied by a standard photocopy.
All forms must be properly completed and each signature section signed. Mark N/A to question(s) not applicable to you
Who needs to apply for a New Zealand Citizen Endorsement
1. If you are a New Zealand citizen holding a foreign passport and wish to travel to New Zealand with that passport, you will
need to apply for an endorsement. Evidence of your citizenship can be any of the following:
A New Zealand passport
A New Zealand birth certificate issued prior to 1 January 2006
A New Zealand birth certificate issued on or after 1 January 2006 that positively indicates New Zealand citizenship
Certificate of grant of New Zealand citizenship
Confirmation of New Zealand citizenship by descent certificate issued under section 7(2) of the Citizenship Act 1977
An evidentiary certificate issued under section 21 of the Citizenship Act 1977 confirming that you are a New Zealand
citizen
2. Holders of Returning Resident’s Visa (RRV) issued under the Immigration Act 1987 - If an RRV is endorsed in your current
foreign passport, you may travel to and enter New Zealand until the expiry of the passport
You can request for an electronic endorsement (no label) or a label to be endorsed into the passport.
A fully completed Application for New Zealand Citizen Endorsement Application (INZ 1174)
Each family member needs to complete an application form and pay the application fee

One passport sized photo (must be less than 6 months old)

First-time application
Your original foreign country passport
Original or certified copy of your New Zealand passport or evidence of your New Zealand citizenship (see Section C

Second or subsequent application
Your original foreign country passport
Your expired/cancelled original foreign passport endorsed with an endorsement confirming NZ citizenship or
The New Zealand Citizen endorsement letter


Fees are payable in Singapore Dollars and NON-REFUNDABLE regardless of the outcome of the application

VAC Service Fee and courier fee (if applicable): refer to www.vfsglobal.com/newzealand/singapore. Payment of a return
courier fee is not required if passport is self-collected from the VAC
Additional information request
Immigration New Zealand reserves the right to request additional information in the course of assessing an application and to retain
information and documents on file.
Processing time
At least 7 working days. This is subject to change depending on whether more information is needed to support an application.
However, we commit to keep in touch with you throughout the processing of your application.
