2001
LAMBEAU FIELD
Standard Iron started work on the Lambeau Field
redevelopment in December of 2001. This contract was for
over $7 million and was the largest Architectural Metals
contract to date consisting of over four miles of railing, 20
stairs, and exterior and interior ornamental structural sections. It
provided 50,000 hours of plant labor.
In April of 2004, Standard Iron leased a building in Grand
Island, Nebraska, and opened its fourth manufacturing facility.
The facility was 20,000 sq. ft and started with 13 employees.
This facility is strategically situated to accommodate Standard
Iron’s Contract Manufacturing customers in this region of the
United States. In August of 2004, Standard Iron had a
groundbreaking ceremony for its new 110,000 sq. ft.
manufacturing facility at 4160 Gold Core Drive in Grand Island,
which officially opened in July of 2005.
106,200 sq. ft. fabrication and assembly space
5,250 sq. ft. manufacturing support space
60 employees as of July 2005

In December of 2004, Standard Iron sold its Monticello
facility resulting in the ceasing of manufacturing operations
in Monticello. The Monticello facility continued to be
Standard Iron’s corporate headquarters through the leasing
back of office space through 2008. The Maus Foods building
was purchased the spring of 2008 and renovated to house six
tenants and the corporate headquarters of Standard Iron. In
October of 2008, Standard Iron’s corporate headquarters
moved from the Industrial Park at 207 Dundas Road,
Monticello, to its new home at 524 Pine Street in Monticello.
In March of 2008, Standard Iron’s Contract Manufacturing
Division reached an all-time high monthly sales record of
$5,800,000!

2010
It was announced in 2010 that Standard Iron would
open a Contract Manufacturing facility in Monterrey,
Mexico. This geographical expansion allowed Standard
Iron to serve a market that it was not able to service from its
existing facilities and also take advantage of lower labor
costs. In December of 2010, a major milestone was reached
when the Mexican government approved Standard Iron’s
IMMEX Program. This approval allowed Standard Iron to
move forward with the opening of this facility and shipping
products across the border. The estimated production start-up
at the Monterrey facility was slated for March of 2011.
In 2007, Standard Iron was awarded a contract for over
$7.3 million and 25,000 shop hours for stairs, exterior and
interior railings, and ornamental gates and fencing for the
TCF Bank Stadium. This project exceeds the Lambeau Field
project as Standard Iron’s largest Architectural Metals
contract ever!
