Small Fry Drive-Up (Ages 5 & Under)
Turn movie night at home into a Drive-In Movie Theater! Pick up a
cardboard box and craft supplies from the Library to turn your box
into a car! Boxes available Monday, Sept. 28, while supplies last.
Construction Destruction Bags (Grades K5-5)
Fridays, Oct. 9 & Nov. 13. Join Miss Briony virtually as you construct
and destruct a S.T.E.A.M project. Bags (while they last) will be
available beginning on the dates listed and will contain an activity,
instructions, and a YouTube link.
Crafty Kits (Grades K5-5)
Fridays, Sept. 25 & Oct. 23. Pick up a fun craft or activity to make at
home! Kits (while they last) will be available beginning on the dates
listed and will contain an activity, instructions, and a YouTube link.
The Great Pumpkin Contest (All Ages)
Show off your pumpkin skills! Decorate or carve a pumpkin and enter
it to win a prize in one of two categories. The decorated category is
for any decoration that isn’t carving: painting, drawing, etc. The
carving category is carving only. You can enter ONE pumpkin. Take
a picture of your submission and email it to
Franklin.Children@mcs.org with name, age/grade/adult, and phone
number. Submissions will be accepted from October 1—22 with
online voting from October 23—29! Winners will be announced on
October 30!
Enchanted Halloween Party (All Ages)
Monday, Oct. 26, 11 a.m., Presented by Fairytale Birthday
Company. Halloween is almost here! The fairytale Royals and some
villainous friends invite you for a virtual adventure full of treats and
maybe a few tricks. Storytime, sing-alongs, and a wickedly cute craft
await you on this spooktacular day! Craft supplies (while they last)
will be available in the Library the week before the program. Video
will be posted on the Library’s website and Facebook page.
Teen Programs (Grades 6-12)
Teen Patio Crafts
-Make Your Own Pins & Buttons: Tuesday, Sept. 29, 4-5 p.m. Make
your own pins and buttons using the Library’s button maker! Feel
free to bring your own photos or magazine cut-outs.
-Pumpkin Painting: Tuesday, Oct. 13, 4-5 p.m. Get ready for
Halloween and paint your own small pumpkin!
These free programs will take place outside on the Library’s back
patio. Masks are required inside and strongly encouraged outside.
Social distancing will be enforced. Touch points on the button maker
will be sanitized between users and the librarian will handle the paint
bottles; gloves will also be available. Call 425-8214 for more details.
Teen Take-Out Crafts
-Sharpie Mugs—Craft kits available for pickup beginning Monday,
Oct. 5, at the Library Information Desk. Use colorful Sharpie markers
-Halloween Edition—Craft kits available for pickup beginning

Halloween with a cool take-home craft! Description will be available

Virtual DIY Crafternoons (FPL Facebook Page)
Wednesdays at Noon. Go to https://www.facebook.com/
FranklinPublicLibraryWI for a live class. Craft kits (while supplies
last) will contain all supplies needed and be available for pickup at the
Information Desk one week prior to the program. No registration
required. Oct. 14: Halloween & Fall Votives / Nov. 18: Soy Candles /
Dec. 9: Tin Can Winter Luminaries.
FPL Community Library Card Scavenger Hunt
October 1—31. Get out and explore the City of Franklin! Discover new
places and enjoy the many great things Franklin has to offer. How
does it work? There will be Franklin Public Library “library card” signs
at spots around Franklin. A scavenger hunt sheet with clues for each
sign’s whereabouts is included inside this City newsletter (also
available on Library website and Facebook page beginning October 1).
Follow the clues to locate all of the “library signs” around the City.
Once you have located all the “cards” and lled out your scavenger
hunt sheet, come to the Library to submit your sheet for a chance to
win prizes. Forms must be submitted by November 1 for a chance to
win a prize.

Do For You? (Virtual Presentation)
Wednesday, Oct. 7, 1 p.m. Join Andrew Bethke for a virtual
presentation on the resources and services MCDA provides including
the Aging Resource Center, Transportation, Wellness Programs,
Senior Dining, Long-Term Care Options, Senior Centers, Dementia
